Brasilito · Guanacaste, Costa Rica
A house that opens to the trees.
Two bedrooms, a private pool, and five thousand square metres of forest — three minutes from Playa Brasilito.
There is a moment, usually on the second morning, when you stop reaching for your phone. The house is quiet except for the birds. The doors are already open — they tend to stay open here — and the pool is holding the shape of the trees above it.
That is what Costa Nativa is for.
The house
Open, and then more open.
The main living space has no hard edge. Sliding glass doors fold back until the kitchen, the sofa and the terrace are a single room and the breeze moves through all of it. The ceilings are high, light arrives from three sides, and nothing is closed off unless you decide it should be.

Pool & terrace
The centre of the day.
The pool sits in the shade of the trees, a few steps from the dining table and the grill. Mornings are for coffee out here. Afternoons are for not moving very much. After dark the water lights up and the terrace quietly becomes the best room in the house.

Rooms
Built for sleeping well.
A king bed in the main room, a queen and a single in the second. Both have blackout shades, noise insulation and air conditioning, and both are made up with premium cotton linens. Two full bathrooms. Five people, comfortably.

Main bedroom — king bed, ensuite

Second bedroom — queen bed and single bed

Two full bathrooms

A note on the house
Designed, not decorated.
Costa Nativa was drawn by the Costa Rican architects Murillo + Sanabria in 2021, around a private collection of work by the artist Jacques Hervot. The white walls and the plain detailing are deliberate — they are there so the paintings can speak. You will find them in every room, including the ones you would not expect.
The setting
Three minutes to the water.

Playa Brasilito is a three-minute drive — a small town square, a handful of good restaurants, boards and boat trips for hire. Playa Conchal, the one made of crushed shells, is around the headland. The house itself sits inside Catalina Cove, a gated community with round-the-clock security, on five thousand square metres of endemic Guanacaste and Brasilito trees full of birds and, most mornings, monkeys.
